Watch out for internet fraud!

  • Listed: January 28, 2012 8:25 am

Description

We currently have many offers coming to players and coaches offering jobs and then asking for a deposit, a certificate fee, a copy of the passport, etc.

This is a scam! Do NOT pay any money. Do not send a copy of your passport for any reason.

If you suspect that some illegal business is going on, please contact us and let us know, as we are reporting all known email and IP addresses to internet fraud authorities.

No basketball club will ever ask you for money before signing a contract. If in doubt, again, please contact us.

I had a few agents ask for a copy of a passport, what’s that about?

A agent contacted me about a 30 day tryout with a team in Germany to leave sept 30 , but i would have to forward my passport to a Insurance company as well as pay 300 euros for the medical insurance

  4. The name James Stephens is a real agent in Europe but just not this guy james_stephenbasket@yahoo.com. If you look up the real agent you will see that the information that the fake one gives you doesn’t match at all and the emails aren’t even close.

  6. I aslo have recieved the offer for the Jilian Northeast Tigers position for one of my coachng clients. I cam across your post after suspecting fraud. I did call the CBA they know of the team but not Mr Huang. I asked Mr Huang to send me a telephon number and the team website. When he neglected to respond but insisted on us sending information I suspected fraud.

I also recieved an offer on a player from a club in Russia who attempted the same thing on a player contract with a client of mine. I ended up confirming it as a fraud when I called Russian Federation and was told he team is in a military town and cannot take any import players.

They also asked for copies of documents and payments for VISA which raised my suspicions.

    Thank you for this site.
